Tuesday, October 29, 2002 - Many more pictures!

Bunch of stuff up tonight... stuff I've promised for a while (sorry, no, not the =w= interview, I'm a gimp when it comes to transcribing).  Here's the rundown:
    - Slow Gherkin @ Chain (last tour)
    - Home Grown @ HOB Anaheim
    - Reel Big Fish @ The Palace
    - Wonderlove @ The Blue Cafe
    - Wonderlove @ HOB Anaheim
I fixed the Mest link, it's on the Bands page now.  So are brand-new The Plus Ones and Wonderlove pages.  I changed the Home Grown picture to something a little less ghetto looking.  If you find any broken links please send me an email and let me know.

I forgot to mention that the last entry was made on Ellen and my anniversary with Reel Big Fish.  Rock out.

Oh, yeah.  No Bob Herco stuff.  Cause I'm a gimp.  No one's complained that it's not up.  So there.  My slacker work habits and I win.

I gotta put those Killingtons and Reel Big Fish ones up now...

Enjoy.
Go visit something else I take care of:
Wonderlove - Fan Club at Yahoo
THEY ROCK SO HARD. Get free music: mp3.com/wonderlove if you haven't heard them yet, or www.wonderlove.net

Thanks all.

Wednesday, October 23, 2002 - Mest pictures and a link

I've had these up a few days, but I hadn't had the time to make a "true" link to it yet.  I wanted to hurry up and get the link up for the time being, so check out:
Mest at the House Of Blues, Anaheim - Sat., Oct. 12, 2002
We have a link up to these at our new friend Dave's site:
Oneiric Clothing Company

Oh, and sorry that I broke my promise, but I had a change of plans Monday night and headed to Chris Paul Overall's (lead singer of Wonderlove) acoustic set at DiPiazza's in Long Beach. It was an excellent set, and Dave Beste (bass for Wonderlove) joined in.  Along with sushi dinner with my good friend Amy, it was overall an excellent night.  Tonight (Tuesday, that is) was a semi-secret Wonderlove video shoot at The Space in LBC as well, so I've been busy.  I'll try to get stuff up this week.  Really.

Thanks again for visiting and for the guestbook entries (hint, hint) =)

Friday, October 18, 2002 - The Plus Ones pictures

Pictures from The Plus Ones' show at Chain Reaction (supporting Slow Gherkin) are up. Gherkin's should be up by Monday night, along with the promised pictures from our interview with Bob Herco.  The Killingtons' show at the Detroit Bar and Slow Gherkin's last show at Chain should be as well.  Pictures from the Home Grown/Mest show at Anaheim's HOB should be in by the end of next week, hopefully, plus Reel Big Fish's show at the Palace in Hollywood last month.  Scans galore for your enjoyment!

In recent news:
Reel Big Fish spared from fire (THANK THE GOOD LORD).
Save Ferris' departure confirmed by band member
(you heard it here FIRST - see our news on 9/23/2002)

A bit too tired for anything witty, sorry!

Teaser for Monday night:

us and bob
The faces we're making will be explained later...

Wednesday, October 9, 2002 - New Rx Bandits pictures

150 new exposures of Rx Bandits at the Palace - Sat., Sept. 28, 2002.  Complete show coverage (read: I decided to not weed out the 'bad' ones, so I just put ALL of them up).  Photos up now. My faves? #40, 52, 59, 60, 65, 86, and 88.  #65 in particular.  Go to Bands -> Rx Bandits page for a link.

Wednesday, October 2, 2002 - Save Ferris pictures

Pictures from Save Ferris' last show at Culver City's Sagebrush Cantina up now.  Access them through their link on the Bands page.

More soon.

 Tuesday, October 1, 2002 - Updates

The Bands page has all the photos I currently have up linked.  If there are any broken links please let me know.  Some bands don't have splash pages yet, but those will come shortly.  All that's left to go up from Warped Tour is a few from Go Jimmy Go, Halo Friendlies, and Sweater Girl... At least I'm pretty sure that's it.

I just covered Reel Big Fish (my 40th time seeing them) on Thursday and Rx Bandits on Saturday, both at the Palace.  When I get a chance at work I'll finish scanning the negatives and they'll be posted, along with those from the final Save Ferris show.

Thanks for visiting... pass along the URL and sign our guestbook

PS Can YOU believe it's October? I can't...

Wednesday, September 25, 2002 - Even more photos up

Tonight the updates are all on the Bands page.  Bad Religion, Flogging Molly, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, The Movielife, The Starting Line, and local buddies Up Syndrome.  Check it out.  If I'm not out TOO late at Southbase/Pushover at Chain tomorrow (technically tonight), then I'll put up more... if not, no update likely till Sunday night, because I have that show, Reel Big Fish, Up Syndrome/Never Heard Of It, and Rx Bandits for the next four nights.

To quote Suburban Legends, "I love my life, I love my life"

 Tuesday, September 24, 2002 - More photos

Additions tonight:  New Found Glory page, Yellowcard page, and more Rx Bandits photos added.  More work will be done on the Yellowcard page - it's temporary, but I wanted to make sure that the pictures were available, since they're already up.

I'm exhausted. See you tomorrow.

Monday, September 23, 2002 - New updates, Warped photos

Who knew I could still update this site?  Ha... work is sucking up all my time, but at least scanning photos has become a lot easier. I heart neg scanners.

I lied.  Work and shows.  But what else is new? (My show tally is up to 131 for the year, in case you're keeping track.)

The updates for today:

News bit:  Save Ferris, 1995-2002.  Their last show was this Friday, September 20th, in Culver City at the Sagebrush Cantina.  It was a benefit show for suicide prevention.  They played to a very enthusiastic crowd, and quietly announced the demise of the band at the end of the show - sort of.  As of this point there are no set plans to reform, but Brian and Bill are keeping busy with their side project, Summerville (ex-This Camaro).  The official Save Ferris website is still up, for the time being.  No word on what will happen to the demos they had done for their next release.  If any more information becomes available to me, I will post it.  I personally didn't hear reliable confirmation of the rumor until two days before the show, otherwise we would have sent out an update with advice that you try and make the show.  Photos will follow soon.

Now for the good news...
On the website:  AFI and Midtown - both from Warped Tour - are now linked and full-functional (at least to my knowledge... let me know if there are any broken links).  In addition to that, 75 - SEVENTY-FIVE - new Home Grown pictures are up as well.  As always, go to the Bands page, then to the individual bands' page to see the photos.  Home Grown's Warped photos are on another link through their page.

Enjoy the new goods, I have two nights more nights with no shows planned, so hopefully I'll be getting a bunch more up.  Of course I'll let you know.

A links page is on the mind at the moment, hopefully I will get one up soon.  For now, PLEASE check out the band I work for:

Wonderlove

Any of you that know me would trust that I wouldn't work for any band short of brilliant.

Till next time, don't be a stranger.

- - Lisa!

Psst... sign our guestbook.

 Monday, July 1, 2002 - News brief

Pictures from today's Dashboard Confessional video shoot for "Saints and Sailors" will be up soon.  One-shot Steadycam!  Impressive.

Warped tour is coming up as well - if you're going to Tulare or either San Francisco or Los Angeles dates, let me know, and we'll skank together to Reel Big Fish and Rx Bandits. The Bosstones as well, if scheduling is pleasant.  A note to all you Warped virgins out there - the band lineup is often not set until the night before the show.  Therefore, to ensure you don't miss a band you're going to see, get there at or before the time printed on your ticket.  Keep in mind that you'll need time for parking and getting through the gate.  Just a friendly reminder from your fellow concert goer.

Beat the heat by staying inside and looking at our beautiful site and signing our guestbook.

Monday, June 24, 2002 - I didn't miss doing late night updates

Eight new Bush pictures up (April 2002)... Home Grown to come soon (March 2002) - they're scanned (so the hard part's done), but I'm back to my habit of updating when I should go to sleep... and I have to work early tomorrow, due to my lateness on Saturday.  So enjoy the small update, I will try to do more tomorrow night... or tonight, if you want to get technical.

I updated my own larger bio, too (get to it through my picture on the Your Pictures page).  Journal hasn't been updated in over a month now - sorry!  So many concerts to attend plus work makes Lisa a very tired girl.  Oh, and Ellen's bio page will be up when I remember to tell her to make one.

Oh, and I'm really sorry about this - our new server seems to have more ads, plus some pop-ups.  At least it's still fast and we're online, right?  Eventually we'll get a domain, but I want to make sure I keep this updated more often first.

Have I told you we love you today?  We do.  Thanks for reading.

- - Lisa!

Saturday, June 22, 2002 - Back from the dead?

About time for an update, huh?  A few days ago I was looking at the site and noting that I had to add new Home Grown pictures.  Today I visited again - or attempted to.  Down?  With no warning?  It seems that our old server has no recollection that we ever existed.

Well, suckers, you can't get rid of us that easily.

Back for the attack on a new server - and we'll be updating.  Really.  Bug me about it.  Please.  I love this site and our subscribers; and honestly, we do have a lot of cool stuff that we want to share - old interviews and pictures, along with lots of new ones.  You're looking at a girl with over 4000 photos from concerts that she's taken.  Eventually more of them will be on the site.

Updates today?  Not many, as I've just moved everything over to the (third) new server.  Moved the old news (2002's updates I believe are lost) to the old news page.  Will upload new pictures of Home Grown and a few of Bush tomorrow, hopefully, if I'm not too busy with Wonderlove stuff during the day.  Check it out, and sign our guestbook and let us know you love us - we love you!  Thanks for your support and continued visits to this often dormant site.  Keep on rockin' and we'll try to do the same.

- - Lisa!

The contest is SO still up for grabs - send in a few entries, you just might win.  If we don't crack a quota I'm keeping the stuff for myself and for Ellen though.  Come on, people!
Reel Big Fish stuff, including an interview, is up on the Band and Interview pages.  Two new links on the Bush page (also available through the Band page).  Updated a bit on the Your Pictures page.  More tomorrow, but I want to try and fall asleep before dawn today (it's really close).  Last night I took a nap, woke up, and then didn't get to bed till 8am.  Way to go, me.  Now that it's 6:30, time for bed.

- - Lisa!

 Thursday, October 18, 2001

The Contest page is up.  Bring on the new subscribers!! =D
Fixed up a few things on some band pages too.

- - Lisa! (3:16am. That's more like it.)

 Wednesday, October 17, 2001

I'm working more on the site tonight.  Just go look around to see what I did, cause I haven't decided what I'm going to play with tonight.  Bush banners are up (here and on their page).  Click them, join the e-team, it's all an attempt to get us to waste a few hours to win Ellen a Bush poster that probably cost them $1 to make.  But we want it cause it's cool.  So click and help.  Here's the banner.

Join the i-squad now!

That's all for now, go to the Bands page and look around a bit, will ya?

- - Lisa! (It's only 10:29!)

 Thursday, October 11, 2001

Interviews section is up!  It's pretty self-explanatory.  I added two issues to the Back Issues section, too.  Rock out.  Hopefully, more new things tomorrow as well!
In other news, I have a paper due in approximately 10 hours and 15 minutes.  I have not begun the paper and am going to sleep.  Good idea, bad idea?  I don't care, I'm doing it in the morning.  To kill more time before actually starting the paper, I made a page for myself - to find it, click on my picture in the Your Pictures section.
Someone please hire me to be a professional procrastinator.  I'm excellent!  Ask around!  Everyone knows.  I have excellent references... haha.  Ha.

- - Lisa! (going to bed at 3:23 - early for once?)

 Wednesday, October 10, 2001

What's going on?  So many new things!  The Bands section is filling out slowly but surely.  Nine of the links on that page are functional right now - Bush, Eve 6, Goldfinger, The Hippos, Home Grown, Lit, The Mr T Experience, Rx Bandits, and Save Ferris.  Go check them out if you haven't already.  It's some great times.
If all goes well and I continue to not do schoolwork and instead work on this site, you should see a new section or two to the left tomorrow.  We'll see.  I know myself better than to give guarantees.  Especially at 5 in the morning.  Plus I should actually do that paper.  It IS due on Thursday.
With that, it's time for bed, I think.

- - Lisa!

 Wednesday, October 3, 2001

Today (yesterday?) was very productive computing-wise.  Everything should be working correctly - what I mean is if you're on the mirror site, you will stay on the (extremely slow) mirror site.  And if you're on the new site, you won't accidentally trip over to the old site.  At least I think not.  Please let me know if you do.  Our new server is probably 20x faster than the old one - no joke.  So if you have any of our pages bookmarked, please change it (the easiest way would be to go to our redirect site, http://zap.to/BOLTeZine and going from there).
New uploads tonight include the Home Grown page through the bands link.  Speaking of that, click here for some of the pictures from the Crouching Fish, Hidden Finger tour.
The contest should be really neat.  At first I was going to be really cheap and just make the prize(s) all small, but since I'm planning to hit Amoeba Music sometime Friday or Saturday, I'll pick up some cds.  Anyway, I felt bad having a Creed cd as a prize [fill in your own punchline here].
I know the guestbook link has been having problems but it's fixed now!  As long as they don't change the codes on me again.  So sign it if you haven't yet.  Or if you have.  Jeff has three times (thanks Jeff).
I'll try to get some updates up before tonight (I'm going to concerts for the next three or four nights), but since it's 3:50 in the morning, I think it's time for bed.

- - Lisa!

 Friday, September 21, 2001

Tonight - this morning - whatever, it's 6:30 and I want to go to bed - I did a lot of updates to the site; pretty much all of them were unnoticeable unless you have access to our server and could see how I didn't subcategorize any images into separate folders and instead just threw them in our webspace.  (A run-on sentence!  You can tell that I'm tired!)  Anyway, the transition was pretty seamless - if there are any broken links and/or pictures, please email me and let me know.  I'm bound to have missed one.
In case you're wondering, yes, my computer has been fixed.  Still doesn't explain why I'm suddenly working on the site a lot (be quiet, you might scare this motivation away).
     I sleep now.

- - Lisa!

 Wednesday, September 19, 2001

Today I fixed the Guestbook link - apparently it hadn't been working for what could have been as long as a month.  Oops.  Well, it's fixed now.  Plus, we'll soon - not now, so don't send them yet - be taking links and banners for an upcoming links page.  Many changes are coming, we'll tell you about them soon.  A contest is in the works too!

ribbon Click for information on how you can help.

Added the LIT pictures to the Band section, along with more people to the Your Pictures section.  Whoohoo!

- - Lisa!

 Thursday, July 26, 2001

Warped Tour = rocking out for Lisa and Ellen in Fresno and San Francisco, respectively.  Pictures will be up - let's just say eventually to be safe.  The highlight tours of my summer are parading across the country - the Green Day/The Living End tour, and the "Crouching Fish, Hidden Finger" tour (which stars Reel Big Fish, Goldfinger, Zebrahead, Home Grown, RxBandits, and The Movielife).  For those of you attending the Reel Big Fish & Co. tour, check out this yahoo club:
  http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/alliwantismore (shameless self-promotion.)

My computer has been giving me problems lately, so now I'm not to blame for lack of updates.  I'm working on it.

New changes to the site:  Archived the old news, updated the Your Pictures section.  Keep sending in pictures!

PLUS!  I picked up a copy of the brand-spankin' new (released July 17th) Rx Bandits record at the show at the Roxy in Atlanta.  It's called "Progress" and it's 15 tracks and 52 minutes of pure goodness.  They're playing songs from the album on the tour - I heard "Consequential Apathy" and "Who Would've Thought" and fell in love!  We've decided to promote this contest (which also features labelmates The Starting Line), sponsored by RxB's label, Drive-Thru Records:

The contest runs till August 17th.  Till next time...

 Tuesday, June 5, 2001

First off, congratulations to my sister, Jenny, and Ellen's cousin, Shea, for graduating from Stagg High last week!

So.  Another month of neglect.  I'm done with school, so updates will hopefully come more frequently.  Thanks to the newbies that have signed the guestbook.

Wondering why you haven't gotten an issue yet?  Or why you haven't received one in a while?  Don't panic - we do know it's been a while - but we're still up and running.  So while you're waiting tell your friends to visit the site and subscribe.  Or give us a guilt trip.

In other news, Weezer is on Conan tonight!  Whoohoo!  If you miss it tonight, most NBC affiliates repeat the Conan from the week before in late night reruns (i.e., here he's on again at 3:35).

Some of you have IMed me asking why the site isn't up.  My only guess is that internettrash.com goes down from time to time.  I've been looking into different servers, but I'm also lazy, so... I guess we all just have to deal with it.  In my experience they're not down for long periods of time.

The Your Pictures section is coming along well.  Send in more pictures (I can resize them for you)!  I'm trying to add more of the band pages - I'll post here when they go up.  Save Ferris' page is still the only one working as of now.

I can't think of anything else to say!  Whoohoo for no school!

- - Lisa!

 Wednesday, May 2, 2001

Old habits die hard.  Or they never die.  Thus explains the non-updates for the past... almost month.  Anyway... new work on the site, if only slightly.  I fixed one of the Save Ferris pop-up picture windows (it was popping up as a horizontal window, but it was a vertical photo).  I added the link to their official site as well.  Plus, ...uh.  Hmm.  Oh, I changed the "Your Pictures" section a bit.  We want your stuff for that section!  Send it in already!

Since I didn't mention it last time, Ellen and I are both 21 now.  Want to give us a present?  Sign the freakin' guestbook already.  However, money is being accepted in all forms.

- - Lisa!

 Sunday, April 8, 2001

Look at this, this site got another (small) update!  ...I fixed the missing images on the Guestbook page... so you should sign it... and I slightly changed the About the Editors page.  That's about it.  I'm off to So Cal again... Disneyland Monday and Save Ferris Wednesday, and I'll be back for Zebrahead Friday and Saturday.  You may think it's a normal week, but it's not... So Cal mid-week?  That's right, it's Spring Break, baby.  Hope yours is or was rad... enjoy the site and then go to a show...

- - Lisa!  Free from evil CSUS for the next 8 days or so...

 Thursday, April 5, 2001

Got a few things done today.  I fixed the links on the new "About the Editors" page - they had been going to the old, unupdated versions of the site... In addition to that, if you take a look at the Bands section, you'll see that one of the links actually WORKS (that'd be Save Ferris).  No reason in particular that this one got done first except that I have the most pictures scanned of them at this time.  Much thanks to Ian (ian@funktified.net) for helping with the javascript for that page.

Other than that I haven't done anything for the page lately... contribute some stuff to me (like for the "Your Pictures" section) and I might get motivated.  Spring Break is next week though, and I'll be in So Cal again, so... back to the normal dormant state for a while, most likely.  Then again, I have a presentation and report due on the 17th and I'll probably be looking for things to work on in order to procrastinate, so you never know.

Till next time (I'm taking bets as to how long that'll be... well, not really, but send your bets)...

- - Lisa! up at 2:23 with a 9 am class tomorrow. Whoo.
Happy belated 21st birthday (it was on 4/3) to Ellen from the procrastiating half of B&OLT!

 Monday, March 19, 2001

Today I was feeling highly productive, which is rare, so I've updated the site - twice in one week!  That has to be something.  If you look to the left, you'll see we have the new "About the Editors" section up, so you can find out a little more about us (we'll probably end up changing the captions sooner or later, seeing that Ellen's was written by me).

Also, I've changed all the page URLs except for this page, so if you've bookmarked any page in particular, to see the new link to "About the Editors" you'll have to update your bookmarks.

By the way, I don't think I've mentioned it before, so I'll do it now.  Clicking the B&OLT logo in the top left corner will always bring you back to this page.

     That's about it for now.

- - Lisa! Who should go to sleep, since it's 4:30 am.

 Sunday, March 18, 2001

So a big hello to those of you visiting the site for the first time.  I passed out around 750-1000 flyers at the Weezer show in San Francisco (at the Bill Graham Civic) last night... thank you for not dropping them on the floor and actually coming to the site... haha =)  While Ellen had pushed her way to the front, I had come out between sets and been passing out the things... not to mention after the show.  Nice meeting some of you; one of you remembered B&OLT from a flyer at WARPED TOUR (!) which amazed me, and a few of you had some rad band shirts that I commented on... Hope to see some of you at Reel Big Fish next week (a few of you commented on the pin I was wearing... email me if you want to know dates).  Devon... I hope you're reading this too, cause you promised!  Oh!  Not to mention that I spotted Karl walking through the crowd with his digicam, and Shawn Fanning hanging out with some people...

Now onto the news!  The next issue... subscribe now and you'll still get it, we're waiting on one review to send the sucker out.  If that doesn't come soon I'll end up writing it myself just so we can get the issue out.  On a personal note, I saw The Living End on the 9th at Slim's in San Francisco,... I saw them before at Warped Tour, but good lord did they rock Slim's... my friend Lizzy and I met them afterwards... Australian accents are excellent.

OH YES... before I forget... some people were confused by the "FREE! Exclusive Weezer Interview" printed on the flyers, and thought that it meant that if you subscribed, you'd get to have an exclusive interview with them... um, well, you GET ours, you don't get your own, ya know? ...Yeah, just wanted to clarify that... haha...

With all that rambling done, SIGN OUR GUESTBOOK!  Explore the site some more, I'll be doing some uploading soon.  Nice to meet all of you at Weezer again...

- - Lisa!  Who liked her nap today.
Can't remember if you met me?  Click here for a picture.

 Wednesday, February 21, 2001

First of all, I'd like to appologize for how long it's been since an update.  I thank those of you who still come here and look at the site, waiting for a change.  That seriously rocks, and Ellen and I appreciate the ticks that the counter keeps clicking off, dispite my lack of updates for... 7 months.  Again.  I can't appologize enough for being dormant for so long.

That being said, we're going to explode back into action in the next few months.  For those of you waiting for the Weezer interview, it'll be just a bit longer, because we're going to release that after we see them at the Bill Graham Civic in San Francisco on March 17th.  If for some reason, you're viewing this page and have NOT subscribed yet, PLEASE DO SO NOW by clicking on the link to the left, so you don't miss out on anything.  For those of you who are subscribers, please sign our guestbook, we really appreciate it when you do!

Now that I finally HAVE gotten around to updating, expect some new things soon, because I've been feeling creative lately.  I FINALLY have a scanner, so pictures WILL be up soon, in the Band secion.  We'll likely send out a notice when that happens, and we'll post that update here on the news page as well.

Again... thank you all SO MUCH for your patience.  I can't appologize enough for how long it's been.  Feel free to email me at ShuckiDuck@aol.com with any comments (or just to chat).

- - Lisa!

 Sunday, July 16, 2000

I have been slacking on updates.  Much thanks to all of you who have continued to check back here for changes (but not finding any).  We keep getting hits, but not as many new subcribers, so sign up through the link to the left to fully enjoy Bush & Other Little Things.

I added the Contact Info page today. Now our mailing address is up and you could harass us if you really wanted to.  With any luck, the Your Pictures section will be updated as well.

    That's all for now!

 - - Lisa!

 Sunday, July 2, 2000

I just returned from San Francisco a few hours ago, after the long day at the Warped Tour and hanging out with old friends. I hope that any of you that went had a good a time as we did and hopefully didn't get sunburnt like Ellen.  As promised, the Weezer clip is up (read below) and more will follow as soon as we can get around to it.

For those of you visiting the site for the first time, after getting a flyer from me at the Warped Tour, please bookmark our site.  It is still in the developmental stages and more pages (i.e., the band pages) will be up shortly.  Keep checking back, and while you're here, sign the guestbook and subscribe to the free email zine!

    Thanks for visiting!

 - - Lisa! the very tired Webmaster

 Friday, June 30, 2000

I can't believe summer vacation is a month over already!  As you sit inside, enjoying the air conditioning (hopefully), here are a few news bits and updates to the site for you to enjoy!

Ellen and I were lucky enough to go to the first Warped Tour date this year in Fresno.  We interviewed Mikey of Weezer, who was kind enough to spare some time for us, and record a greeting for you!  You can get it by clicking the image below or by clicking here.  We also sat down with Mike Herrera of MxPx.  These will be transcribed soon!  We promise (maybe)!
