ARTIST INFO

My name is Lisa Huey.
I'm a southern California resident, born and raised in Stockton, CA.

And now, onto speaking in third-person!

Lisa got her start young, with a 110mm camera that her photography-loving mom gave her at a young age. Years later, she photographed a concert in Hollywood, and a passion was ignited.

In the following 8 years, she has driven over 200,000 miles, racked up thousands of frequent-flyer miles, and shot over 750 shows both nationally and internationally. In this time, Lisa has made a name for herself among both local and national bands and artists with her eye for photography.

She recently finished her studies at at Cal State Fullerton, graduating with a degree in Communications.

FAQ:
Q: Can you shoot my band?
A: Sure. Email me with as much information as you can [date(s) and location(s), info on your band, etc.] and we'll figure something out.

Q: Do you do photoshoots?
A: Absolutely. I try to work around bands' schedules as well, as rounding up a bunch of band members opposed to, well, me, takes more time. Email me and we'll talk pricing, themes/ideas, and scheduling.

Q: Do you only shoot bands?
A: I also shoot events to some extent; I very very rarely shoot weddings (and for the most part, politely decline). I do mostly stick to the music realm. I don't limit myself to live performances per se, but that is the bulk of what I do.

Q: Are you available for tours?
A: Yes. I have prior touring experience (bus, van, RV, and abroad) and also sold merch for some time.

Q: Hey, what's the deal with your photos on Wikipedia and other encyclopedia sites?
A: I support the Wikipedia encyclopedia project and allows my work to be displayed on this and other such sites, under the Creative Commons licenses (version by-nc-nd). You can read about that by clicking here. Read more in the next question...

Q: Can I use your photos for my MySpace / Facebook / website / CD / merch?
A: Usage by bands and individuals on social networking websites, such as MySpace and Facebook, is covered under the license I employ for Wikipedia use.
In layman's terms, I allow the gallery photographs to be used online as long as I am credited (read: please do not alter or cover the copyright / website watermark); as long as whatever it is used for, in, or on is not being sold; and as long as the photo is not edited. Any commercial use or access to higher resolution files must be arranged with me directly, prior to release.

Q: Can I buy prints?
A: I do sell prints! Also, if your band, label, clothing, instrument, or gear company wishes to use an image, that can be arranged. If you have a specific photograph in mind, please either include a link to the image or list the band, date, and photo number in your inquiry, and email me.

Q: What's this "boltezine.com" thing?
A: The very first incarnation of a site with my photography on it at all was B&OLT eZine. It was an online web magazine that I started with my friend Ellen. We interviewed bands, reviewed shows and albums, and I took pictures. However, both of us were in college, and lived 8 hours away from each other. Ellen also lived in a more remote part of the state (or at least a part where few bands and tours went through). Eventually I started doing less interviews and reviews, and focused on photography. By the time I registered LisaHuey.com, boltezine.com had so many images and galleries directly linked to it that I couldn't port the whole site over without disrupting a lot of links.
Now, with nearly 1100 galleries, and nearly 5GB of information uploaded, changing everything isn't an easy task.
